S3's TeraMatch® uses a sophisticated scoring system to match
on several common data quality errors
TeraMatch® is the clear leader when it comes to matching inconsistent data. Traditional matching methods simply aren't flexible enough to match on data that is similar, yet not exact. And since data is often created and stored in several systems and then maintained by several different people, it's certain that data will contain several errors and inconsistencies. Therein lies the strength of TeraMatch®, which has the ability to accurately match similar data fields.
Using the term "S3 Matching Technologies", the table below shows how TeraMatch® can detect matches within each of the listed errors.

To accurately identify matches, multiple data fields should also be examined. The sample below shows how TeraMatch® can compare two seperate files that contain very similar fields, scoring them high enough to be considered a possible match. In contrast, traditional matching methods would conclude that the fields are not exact, so the files are not a match.
